Read: Why was Graham Linehan arrested? my story on Medium, Sep 3, 2025
"One fan of J.K. Rowling, Graham Linehan, came up with "Gender Critical Coming Out Day" as a celebration of a Rowling tweet in support of Magdalen Berns. He also shared part of the home address of Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre director and trans woman Mridul Wadhwa online as part of a viral harassment campaign, which included death threats over the phone and in letters. The Rape Crisis Centre had to end its open-door policy and is still in lockdown." Sam Young, Medium

Twitter suspended Graham Linehan's account in 2020. When Elon Musk took over the platform in 2022, he reactivated Linehan's account.
In 2023, Linehan has found a gay man saying he's willing to kill for the anti-transgender cause. (As seen in 2025: YouTube has taken down the video, but the clip is still on X.)

Linehan plays it this way: If anyone objects to the violent transphobia, Linehan can respond You're homophobic because you disagree with this gay man.
And his followers duly take their lead from him. "More homophobia from the trans rights movement, trying to silence a gay man etc..." because the GC movement are more than happy to play identity politics when it suits them, to reassert their goodness in this. 4/

These people only want to listen to some women speak.
He was briefly suspended from Twitter again in April 2023.
His anti-trans activism is ongoing. An unpaywalled "friend link" for you: "BBC attempt to launder reputation of Graham Linehan": The former comedy writer turned keyboard warrior has had a gig cancelled prompting a write-up where the BBC attempt to launder reputation of horrific bigot, Graham Linehan. Video is by Caelan Conrad, April 29, 2024 — I've watched the first 15 min and would like to come back to it. It's a 2-hour video. The idea in these first 15 min is that Linehan can't stop tweeting about trans people, he lost his marriage (and lost the cheese grater in the divorce), and no one is buying his book about losing the cheese grater.
The High Court has ruled in my defamation case against Graham Linehan, finding that the statements he published were defamatory at common law. Huge thanks to my legal team for their support throughout this process. You can read the full judgment here: caselaw.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ewhc/kb/2025...

The Associated Press reports: "Linehan, who is well known for posts asserting that trans women are men, said in April [2025] that trans women were violent criminals if they used women-only facilities. He advocated hitting them if calling police and other measures failed to stop them from using such facilities." On September 1, police arrested him for inciting violence. Conservative MP Claire Coutinho said in Linehan's defense: “Now the police are arresting people for making jokes.” Well, if you're best known for making anti-transgender comments, no one thinks it's a "joke" when you recommend hitting trans people.
