If you complain about a "book ban," using that language, Florida just says that libraries have the right to remove books of which they disapprove and that this doesn't amount to a "ban." (The Florida fight over banned books goes national, WFSU | By Margie Menzel, January 31, 2025)

"...H.R. 7661, the so-called “Stop the Sexualization of Children" Act.

This dangerous federal bill has already passed the House Committee on Education and Workforce and could move quickly. It would threaten public-school funding for books, materials and programs that lawmakers label “sexually oriented,” including material the bill says “involves gender dysphoria or transgenderism.” It could be used to broadly limit what young people are allowed to read, learn, and see reflected in their schools. The American Library Association has described H.R. 7661 as “dangerous,” “vague,” and an invitation to government censorship."
